Blogs VS Forums

Blogs are about sharing your opinion and views on things and other people reading them and people can follow and comment and agree with you, or type back what they think about the post you have made, these posts will stay on your blog until you read them.
Forums are a discussion about views or opinions and often turn into an argument and have more faster feedback, posts are still kept in the forum post until you go back on the forum and read it.

Email VS Instant Messenger (IM)

Electronic Mail or E-Mail is a way of sending a letter electronically through a computer anywhere in the globe across the internet and the recipent will read it whenever they check there email inbox.
Instant Messenger or (IM) is a way of sending a message straight away between two computers fast with only half a second of a delay, this is a way of having a conversation with another person while they are online, unlike email when they have to look at there inbox to send a reply.

Apart from that group work is going well, we  have our website planned out and just need to make it now, things are looking up.

WAP - Wireless Application Protocol and GSM - Global System for Mobilers

WAP  is an open international standard for aplication-layer network communications in a wireless comunnication enviroment. Most use of WAP involves accessing the mobile web from a mobile phone, it was first released in 1999 with mixed reviews across the world with it being a huge success japan however failing to impress uk citizens until 2003/04 where it sparked some interest in the uk, WAP however has died out with phones providing HTML instead.

GSM is a second generation digital mobile cullular technology using a combination of frequency division multiple access and time division multiple access (TDMA). GSM operates in several frequency bands: 400Hz, 900Hz and 1800Hz. On the TDMA side, there are eight timeslots or channels carring calls, which operate on the same frequency. The standard was joinly deeveloped between European adminstistrations under Groupe Speciale Mobile in the 1980s and introduced commercially in 1991. Unlike other cellular systems, GSM provides a high degree of security by using subscriber identity module sim cards and GSM encryption.

Group Planning - Digital Communications

We are now in our groups, we have planned out what and when we are going to record. Each member of the group is going to do each task and we will have everyone having a go at everything, The idea is too get some camera shots of Weymouth College and interview the staff. After we have our video we will attempt to make a website that will have a layout of the Weymouth College campus and include a edited version of the video that we have shot, the websites aim is to promote the college.
